Seedfunders Looks to Fill St. Pete’s Pre-Revenue Tech Funding Gap

A year after David Chitester retired from Florida Funders, the first investment firm he founded, he decided it was time to leave retirement and take on a new challenge. Chitester looped in original Florida Funders investors Irv Cohen and Randy Greene and decided, with their backing, that he would launch a new funding company called “Seedfunders” to concentrate on pre-revenue technology concepts.

Given that Florida Funders is now funding much larger investments including Series A offerings of $1 million and more, Chitester believes there is a large gap in the market for those seeking capital at the concept stage.  Seedfunders is now seeking to fill that gap by investing up to $100,000 in pre-revenue, scalable technology concepts in Florida.  The company also provides mentorship and guidance to those companies so that they will eventually be candidates for funding by Florida Funders and other investment groups throughout the nation.

Dave Chitester and Irv Cohen both have strong financial backgrounds and bring an extensive skillsets to the table. This team has the skills needed to bring a pre-revenue tech concept to life.

Founded in late 2017, Seedfunders has already invested in their first portfolio company, TSOLife.  TSOLife (The Story of Life) is revolutionizing how seniors memorialize their lives by giving them control of the process.  Through TSOLife’s interactive platform clients create their personal legacy documentary by sharing stories, videos, photos and memories which are securely preserved for future generations.

David Chitester, Seedfunders CEO stated “We are excited to lead this seed round for TSOLife as they finalize their B2B platform and launch into the growing senior living facility market.  I look forward to joining the board with other leading investors to provide the guidance and mentoring that startups like TSOLife require to make it through the early stages and reach profitability.”

As St. Petersburg becomes a hot bed for tech startups, Seedfunders looks to be on the forefront of this wave and is actively seeking applications for funding.  It will be interesting to follow this company and their investment in St. Pete in the future.
